Tillandsia | Xerographica

Tillandsia | Xerographica

(The size and shape of each plant may vary slightly) Aptly named the "Queen of Tillandsias," this spectacular air plant forms a rosette of large, silvery leaves that elegantly curl in on themselves. Its slow growth and unique sculptural form make it a true collector's item. With no need for soil, it can be displayed in a thousand ways: placed on a stand, hung, or integrated into a wall composition. A true living jewel! 🌫️ Care: Light: Bright, indirect light, with a little gentle morning sun if possible. Avoid direct, intense sun, which can burn the silvery foliage. Watering: Mist generously 2 to 3 times a week, or soak the plant (preferably upside down) in lukewarm water for 20-30 minutes once a week. Drain well after each watering – stagnant water in the center of the rosette can cause rot. Humidity: Appreciates a moderately humid environment. In very dry air, increase misting frequency. Temperature: Between 18°C and 27°C. Avoid cold drafts. Soil: No soil required – it is an epiphytic plant that absorbs water and nutrients through its leaves. Fertilization: Highly diluted special tillandsia fertilizer once a month during the growing season (optional, but encourages flowering). Air Circulation: Essential to prevent rot – allow to dry well between waterings and avoid completely enclosed spaces. Flowering: May produce a spectacular pink-red inflorescence after several years, usually followed by offsets (new growths) at its base. Toxicity: Non-toxic – safe for children and pets.
