fairy castle cactus var

Acanthocereus tetragonus | Fairy Castle Cactus Var.

A cactus as charming as it looks! The Fairy Castle forms multiple branched columnar stems reminiscent of the turrets of a small fairy castle. The variegated version adds an extra magical touch with cream, pale yellow, or whitish sections that contrast beautifully with the usual green of the stems. Its slow growth and sculptural form make it an ideal collector's item for cactus enthusiasts. 🌵 Care: Light: Bright light, ideally with several hours of direct sun per day. Variegated sections may be slightly more prone to sunburn — a gradual transition to full sun is recommended. Watering: Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings (typical for cacti). Water generously, then wait until the soil is thoroughly dry before watering again. Significantly reduce watering in winter. Humidity: Prefers dry air, typical of a desert environment. No need for additional humidity. Temperature: Between 18°C and 27°C (64°F and 80°F). Can tolerate cooler temperatures in winter (dormancy period), but avoid frost. Soil: Specific cactus and succulent mix, very well-draining (sand, perlite, potting soil). Fertilization: Diluted cactus fertilizer, once or twice during the growing season (spring-summer). Do not fertilize in winter. Repotting: Rarely necessary, every 2-3 years, handling with gloves or thick newspaper to avoid spines. Special Feature: Variegated sections (less chlorophyll) grow slower than green sections — this is normal and part of the charm of this variety. Toxicity: Non-toxic, but spines can cause injury — handle with care, especially around children and pets.

alocasia venom

Alocasia 'Venom'

A truly spectacular plant for collectors! The Alocasia 'Venom' is a natural mutation of the Alocasia 'Amazonica', stemming from the same legendary cross between Alocasia sanderiana and Alocasia longiloba 'Watsoniana'. Its arrow-shaped, deeply textured and veined leaves display an almost black dark green contrasted by silvery to bright white veins — a bold and dramatic look that fully justifies its Marvel character-inspired name. Young leaves emerge paler and harden into a dark metallic hue as they mature. A guaranteed centerpiece for any rare plant collector! ⚡ Care: Light: Bright, indirect light to preserve the striking contrast between the foliage and veins. Avoid direct sunlight, which can damage the leaves. Watering: Keep the soil slightly moist, but not waterlogged. Allow the topsoil (approximately 40-60% of the potting mix) to dry out between waterings. Avoid complete desiccation. Humidity: Demands high humidity (60-80%). A humidifier is highly recommended for optimal growth and well-textured leaves. Temperature: Between 18°C and 27°C (64°F and 81°F). Avoid temperatures below 15°C (59°F) and cold drafts. Soil: Light and airy aroid potting mix, well-draining, with a good organic/mineral balance. Fertilization: Diluted balanced fertilizer, about once a month during the growing season (spring-summer). Growth: Upright and bushy habit (up to about 60 cm / 24 inches tall). Grows from a rhizome — if the plant loses its leaves, it can often regrow from it. Dormancy: May enter winter dormancy with normal leaf loss — reduce watering during this period, no need to panic! Toxicity: Toxic to humans and animals if ingested — keep away from children and pets.

Alocasia Frydek var

Alocasia micholitziana | 'Frydek' Variegata

A rare and highly prized variety of Alocasia Frydek! The characteristic velvety dark green foliage, adorned with striking creamy-white veins, is further enhanced by large white to cream variegated sections, creating a spectacular contrast. Each new leaf is a surprise, with unique and unpredictable variegation patterns — a true collector's treasure. ✨ Care: Light: Bright, indirect light, essential to maintain variegation and prevent the white parts (less chlorophyll) from burning. Absolutely avoid direct sun. Watering: Keep the soil slightly moist, without excess. Allow the topsoil (about 2-3 cm) to dry out between waterings. Sensitive to both drought and overwatering. Humidity: Requires high humidity (60% and above). A humidifier is strongly recommended to prevent brown tips and promote healthy growth. Temperature: Between 18°C and 27°C. Very sensitive to cold drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations. Soil: Light and very well-draining potting mix, rich in organic matter (aroid mix with perlite and orchid bark). Fertilization: Balanced fertilizer diluted by half, about once a month in spring and summer. Repotting: As needed, usually annually, into a slightly larger pot with good drainage. Special Feature: A temperamental plant that requires special attention — the white sections are fragile and grow more slowly. May go dormant in winter (normal leaf loss, don't panic!). Toxicity: Toxic to humans and animals if ingested — keep away from children and pets.
