Palestinian Soap Cooperative

The world's first bath soap - invented in 950 AD - pure olive oil soap from Nablus in Palestine is renowned for its ability to clean almost anything without damaging it and for its therapeutic properties for the skin.

Founded in July 2021, the Palestinian Soap Cooperative is a Palestinian-American member-owned company that seeks to make Nablus soap affordable and accessible worldwide, in a way that distributes profits among producers, retailers, and users.

Olive Oil Soap | 'The Two Keys' al-Mufftahein

The Two Keys brand is renowned for the generous size of its soaps and its historic factory, which has preserved the traditional craft of soap making for over 100 years. Located in the heart of Nablus, in the historic Qaryoun neighborhood, Tuqan Soap Factory has undergone significant changes over the past century. Owned by the Tuqan family, prominent figures and local leaders of Nablus in the 18th and 19th centuries, the factory remains dedicated to the production of traditional soap, reflecting the city’s rich economic and cultural history.

Olive Oil Soap | 'The Olive' al-Zaytoon

Al-Zaytoon holds the title of the oldest soap factory in operation, producing over four hundred varieties of soaps and cosmetics. Founded in 1611, Al-Zaytoon is a family business deeply rooted in the soap-making tradition of Nablus. All products are certified organic and halal, containing the highest possible percentage, 82%, of ingredients on the certified organic ingredients list. For 400 years, local soap makers and producers have relied on the Tbeleh family to facilitate the highly specialized process of soap cutting.

Olive Oil Soap | 'The Land' al'Ard

Founded in 2008, al-Ard is the newest of Nablus’ soap brands. Handmade with passion by Palestinian women. The al-Ard maker works in small batches and his olive oil is often among the best in the region. The women's cooperative's equipment is all stainless steel and runs on electricity.
