Hoya Sunrise
Hoya 'Sunrise' is a hybrid variety prized for its elongated, dark green foliage with lighter veins, which turns coppery red in abundant light. It is an epiphytic plant with an exotic air, easy to grow and sometimes generous in small, fragrant star-shaped flowers.
-
Light : Prefers bright, indirect light. Bright exposure promotes the reddish coloration of the foliage.
-
Watering : Allow the soil to dry out partially between waterings. It tolerates a lack of water better than excess.
-
Humidity : Enjoys good ambient humidity, but adapts well to average indoor air.
-
Temperature : Ideal between 18 and 26°C. Protect from the cold (minimum 12°C).
-
Substrate : Light, well-drained mix, orchid or cactus type.
-
Fertilization : Mild fertilizer once a month in spring and summer.
-
Growth : Moderate to fast. Can be trained on a trellis or allowed to trail.
-
Flowering : Star-shaped flowers with a sweet scent, often after a few years of growth.
-
Toxicity : Non-toxic to animals (but ingestion not recommended).
-
Special feature : Do not remove the flower stalks after flowering – the plant will flower again.
