Hoya Wayetii is a prized variety of Hoya, valued for its thick leaves and climbing growth. Native to tropical Asia, this plant, a member of the Apocynaceae family, is often grown as a houseplant in temperate climates.
Hoya Wayetii leaves are thick, fleshy and bright green, with a smooth, shiny texture. They grow along stems, which can spread and climb with proper support. The shape and structure of the leaves add visual interest to the plant, giving it a lush, tropical appearance.
Although less common than other Hoya varieties, Hoya Wayetii also produces small, starry flowers, although more inconspicuous. The flowers are usually white or cream, and they sometimes give off a sweet, subtle scent.
To care for your Hoya Wayetii, place it in a bright location out of direct sunlight. It tolerates medium to bright light conditions well. Water it moderately, letting the substrate dry slightly between waterings. Also be sure to protect the plant from cold temperatures, as it prefers warm, humid climates.
