Hoya Carnosa 'Krimson Queen'
A graceful plant with thick, creamy-white variegated leaves that are sometimes tinged with pink, Hoya 'Krimson Queen' is a highly decorative wax plant variety. It is prized for its vibrant foliage and small, fragrant, star-shaped flowers when in bloom.
-
Light : Likes bright, indirect light. Can tolerate some direct sun, but avoid intense full sun which can burn the leaves.
-
Watering : Allow the surface of the soil to dry out between waterings. Moderate watering; it tolerates a little drought better than overwatering.
-
Humidity : Enjoys moderate humidity, but adapts well to ambient air in homes.
-
Temperature : Ideal between 18 and 24°C. Avoid temperatures below 12°C.
-
Substrate : Well-drained, lightweight mix, ideally succulent potting soil or an orchid/perlite/potting soil mix.
-
Fertilization : Mild fertilizer every 4 to 6 weeks during the growing season (spring to early fall).
-
Pruning : Little necessary. Prune as needed to control shape or remove damaged stems.
-
Flowering : May flower with sufficient light and maturity. Do not cut flower stalks after flowering: new flowers will grow on them.
-
Repotting : Every 2 to 3 years, in a slightly larger pot.
